TO MAKE OUT OF SCRAPS

A bedroom, an old sewing machine and scraps of fabric, then a few handmade garments and a ton of dreams to change the conventions of the textile industry that can no longer be contained within the walls. These were Ankila’s very first steps.

WITH MEANING

Recovering old fabric, cleaning it, cutting it up, assembling it, sewing it and making it sublime for its second life? What if this was the natural beauty of textile design? Adding value to what already exists by overcycling—upcycling—and using raw, eco-friendly materials. High-quality garments created from textile waste or dormant stocks, and yet made from noble materials, with original accessories made from local natural fibres. To all this, we say yes. We exclusively choose pieces made from overcycled, existing or raw materials to carry out our project.

We believe in a sustainable, ethical, and circular fashion. Our promise: singular pieces designed with intention and thoughtfulness by designers and small businesses from all four corners of the globe.

Our approach is based on eco-responsibility and quality, respecting craftsman(women)ship and encouraging more useful production and more thoughtful consumption to reduce waste.
